My Wish – Rascal Flatts
I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow, and each road leads you where you want to go,and if you’re faced with a choice, and you have to choose,I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.and if one door opens to another door closed,I hope you keep on walkin’ ’til you find the window,if it’s cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile, more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,You never need to carry more than you can hold, and while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,Yeah, this, is my wish.
I hope you never look back, but ya never forget, all the ones who love you, in the place you left,I hope you always forgive, and you never regret, and you help somebody every chance you get,Oh, you find God’s grace, in every mistake, and you always give more then you take.
But more than anything, Yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it,to your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,You never need to carry more than you can hold, and while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,Yeah, this, is my wish.
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it,to your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,You never need to carry more than you can hold, and while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,Yeah, this, is my wish.yeah this is my wish I hope you know somebody loves you may all your dreams stay big.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY - RELAY FOR LIFE WALK ON JUNE 20, 2009
Why I Fight for a Cure....for my father Thomas Barnes

The picture you see is of my father before his cancer. My name is Sara Barnes, at age 18 my father was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer after returning from Desert Storm.
As a senior in High School I was devastated by the news that my father - my hero, had cancer and might die. My mother and I were still overcome with the emotion of having him home after serving a year in Desert Storm, and felt we had survived the impossible already.
Unlike many other cancer patients, we were fortunate enough to be able to help save his life by finding one of the best cancer hospitals and cancer surgeons in the world, located a few short miles away in Los Angeles. After a radical surgery at USC Norris Hospital I am proud to say that he is cancer free. However, it was not without much pain, heartache, worry (still) and suffering. As a caregiver to someone with cancer you never look at life the same way again.
A little history as to the man behind the cancer:
My father was the Coast Guard Liaison to a U.S. Navy, Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit he worked covert Drug diversion on the jungle island of the Caribbean with the Navy using the Coast Guard to enforce "drug intervention," as a LT. he was successful in the integration of the Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare (MIUW) with the Coast Guard patrol craft for interdiction. In September of 1990 my father was called to Active Duty by the Coast Guard under Navy orders which specifically named him in the orders as the Liaison Officer which entailed my father to Liaison with the Navy and Saudi Arabian Frontier Forces in Desert Shield / Storm assigned in Country. My father worked with the Saudi Police and Federal Law Enforcement, becoming the Senior Coast Guard Staff Officer for the Port Security Unit for the Port Of Dammam in Saudi Arabia, which included at times over 50,000 US Army troops and all the Saudi Arabian staff Officers including but not limited to the Police, Fire and Port Official. My father retired from the military as one of the highest (over 30 medals, ribbons or citations) decorated officers including decorations from Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
I Relay because my father was diagnosed with cancer due to chemical warfare and other agents used against OUR American Soldiers. For all of those heroes serving not only in the Armed Forces, but for all of those unspoken heroes who are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters and dear friends, I want to see advancement in the treatment of cancer during my lifetime. Relay gives me the unique opportunity to help raise much needed money to help families pay the daunting fees for hospital care, insurance co-payments, chemo and radiation therapies- to name only a few of the costly treatments.
Most importantly, I do this to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission by fighting back against a disease that has already taken too much. Please support my efforts to fight back against cancer by making a donation or joining my Relay For Life team. Your efforts will help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information, advocate for all people to have access to screening and treatment, and offer free programs and services to improve the quality of life for people facing cancer. By being a part of Relay, we are joining a worldwide movement to help defeat cancer for future generations.

Sophia's Interpretation of self - Age 8

"I am Sophia...
I wonder what I will look like when I'm older...
I hear birds chirping...
I see Starry night paintings...
I want to go backstage on a Hannah Montana Concert...
I pretent I have a puppy...
I feel silly...
I touch my books...
I worry about my homework not being done...
I cry when I'm hurt...
I understand a little bit of Spanish...
I say nice things...
I dream I am rich...
I try hard...
I hope I get money for my birthday...
I am Sophia!"

CookieJar Family

Old man lyin by the side of the road...With the lorries rollin by....Blue moon sinkin from the weight of the load...And the buildings scrape the sky...Cold wind rippin down the valley at dawn...And the morning paper flies...Dead man lyin by the side of the road...With the daylight in his eyes

dont let it bring you down...Its only castle burning...Find someone whos turning...And you will come around

Blind man runnin through the light of the night...With an answer in his hand...Come on down to the river of sight...And you can really understand...Red lights flashin through the wins.

dow in the rain...Can you hear the sirens moan...White cane lyin in a gutter in the lane...And you're walkin home alone...You will come around...freedom to make mistake
